The Ernest Egyir Foundation has successfully constructed and commissioned a modern 10-seater toilet facility at Saltpond Methodist ‘A’ Basic School in the Central Region.
The project was commissioned and dedicated on Thursday, 9th July 2026, at a ceremony held on the school premises. The facility was built through the personal initiative of the founder of the foundation, Osagyefo Ernest De-Graft Egyir, who is an old boy of the school.
The commissioning ceremony was graced by the Rt Rev. Richardson Aboagye Andam, Diocesan Bishop of Cape Coast, who led the dedication of the facility. Other dignitaries present included Very Rev. Samuel K. Bassaw (Synod Secretary – Cape Coast), Very Rev. Isaac William Ofori-Minta (Superintendent Minister, Saltpond Circuit), and Madam Lordina Bimpong, Headmistress of Saltpond Methodist ‘A’ Basic School.
Speaking during the event, Osagyefo Ernest De-Graft Egyir presented the keys of the facility to the school and expressed his commitment to supporting the development of his alma mater.
The new toilet block provides a clean, safe, and dignified sanitation facility for the pupils and staff of the school. The project forms part of the foundation’s broader efforts to improve educational infrastructure and the learning environment for children in communities connected to the founder’s roots.
The Ernest Egyir Foundation remains committed to supporting initiatives that enhance the welfare and development of communities, particularly in the areas of education and health.
